Time to apply for the 2024 Student Ambassador program to Takamatsu, Japan has passed.
Keep your eyes open for the 2025 application!
Each summer, Sister Cities St Petersburg and Takamatsu exchange Student Ambassadors for about two weeks during summer vacation. To be eligible to apply, students must:
(1) reside within the city limits of St Petersburg and
(2) will complete their junior year in May.
This opportunity will be available for up to 3 students. Selected students will represent St Petersburg during a homestay with a Japanese family. The program will run from approximately the last week or so of July and the first week or so in August. Transportation and program costs are covered by the City of St. Pete, but students are responsible for spending money. SPIFFS will also assist with spending money, if financial need is demonstrated.
The family of any student going to Japan is, in turn, responsible for hosting a student from Japan (or finding an alternate, approved host family).
We look forward to hearing from you!
